Personal
statement:
“I am intensely motivated by
emotions, unique moments in time, adventures and
visual stimuli. Combining this
with my passion for street art alongside texture,
scrap and natural resources, I attempt to
create, in abstract form, my own
interpretations of many personal experiences and feelings. I
paint using acrylic as a
medium with textures and scrap metal in part. Utilizing
fibres, fabrics and papers,
handmade and people’s discarded waste, I like to recycle as
much as possible,
turning remnants and ‘rubbish’ into beautiful creations,
albeit dark at times, from
my own perceptions.”
Kate Cox is a Worcestershire
artist specializing in abstract painting, textiles and
paper making, with commitment towards exhibiting and
involvement in
community/recycled arts ventures.
All commissions, collaborations
and enquiries welcome.
CV
After completing a textile design
degree at Derby University, I went on to become a
freelance designer for several years before setting up my
own business, playing
with papers and fibres, to create bespoke Wedding
stationery.
Since 2008, internal developments
have been formed, furthermore turning my
creative skills to abstract painting, contemporary textiles
and paper making.
